Magdalena: Naked Catholic Superheroine - Magdalena Movie will be released in 2010.
Magdalena movie is based on a popular Top Cow comic book.
In the Magdalena Movie, Patience discovers that she’s a part of the lineage of female warriors descended from Mary Magdalene who fight supernatural evil. She has the ability to see into the human heart to give people a choice to redeem their sins. The Magdalena are a lineage of female warriors -- descended from the Virgin Mary - employed by the Catholic Church throughout history to battle demons, vampires, and other supernatural nasties. Patience, the current Magdalena, wields the all-powerful Spear of Destiny (the same one that pierced Christ), taking her orders from The Inquisition, a secret order of cardinals that raises and trains the Magdalena.
The film also stars Luke Goss who plays Kristof, an agent sent by the secret organization that has been the guardian of the Magdalena lineage.
Producer Gale Anne Hurd (The Incredible Hulk), joined Dewan and co-star Luke Goss (Hellboy II: The Golden Army).
The Magdalena will be directed by Ryuhei Kitamura (Midnight Train).
